Pilot evidence & scale-up checklist
Agree what the trial needs to demonstrate before committing the next stage.
The CSV includes columns for availability, source/date and your notes. The checklist does not require you to send information to BGF.
Question and feed
- Decision the pilot must support and alternatives under consideration.
- Representative feed composition, load range and variability.
- Differences between trial conditions and intended operation.
Measurement plan
- Baseline, controls or comparison appropriate to the question.
- Performance indicators, units, methods and sampling timing.
- Water, material and residual streams within the trial boundary.
Operation and interpretation
- Start-up, steady operation, interruptions and recovery distinguished.
- Consumables, energy, operator interventions and residual quality recorded.
- Analytical uncertainty, missing observations and confounding changes identified.
Next-stage decision
- Acceptance criteria and evidence needed to support scale-up.
- Unproven assumptions and additional validation requirements.
- Responsibilities for interpreting results and authorising the next step.
This is an initial information checklist, not a laboratory instruction, safety assessment or detailed design specification. Select parameters and sampling arrangements with the responsible specialists.
